INTRODUCTION:
Maurice Secondary school is operated under the Maurice and Five Brothers Company L.t.d.

The company is established in Mwanza and having its branches at Dar Es Salaam and Musoma. The company deals with buying and selling timber and its products and now is decided to invest in education.

LOCATION:
The school is situated at the South-west of Temeke Municipal council about 22km from Municipal Head office in Dar es Salaam region, Mbagala division, Chamazi ward at the Mbande - Kisewe village. The school is about 1km from Mbande. To the West the school is boarded by Msongola village, to the North by the UVIKIUTA, to the East by Mbande village and to the South by Kisewe-Mvuti road. Its total area is about 22000 square meters.

REGISTRATION:
The school has been registered on 10th August 2004 with registration number S.1365


SCHOOL MOTTO:
Our school motto is “ELIMU NI HAKI YA KILA MTU”, that’s why we enroll
students from every corner of the world regardless of culture, colour, religion, and race.


OUR MISSION:
The school is designed to cater education services to all Tanzanians and foreigners
irrespective of their income and status. It is our mission to provide the best education
programs, staff and other education facilities to meet the various educational needs of our
students


CURRICULUM:
The school follows the government curriculum which is provided by the Institute of Curriculum Development, thus we have two terms.

• The first term start from January to June.
• The second term starts from July to November.

STUDENTS REGISTRATION:
We register students who completed primary school level to join form one and form four with at least three credits to join form five

ADVANCED LEVEL:
The school provides four combinations for form that is, ECA, HGL, HGK, and HGE whilst O’Level students we offer the following subjects: physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, English language, Maths, Swahili, Commerce and Book-keeping.
We aim to stimulate our students so that they enjoy their studies.
We offer skilled and challenging instructional methods which encourage students to achieve the highest standards possible.

Provisions of small group attention, therefore, our classes accommodate only thirty students.

STUDY TOURS:
A regular study tour programme for all classes. These trips offer a wealth of knowledge to our students about the countryside. We visit historical sites, National Parks and Selous Game Reserve.


OBJECTIVES:
To enable students to get high quality education as it has been analyzed by the Institute of Curriculum Development.
To enable students to be creative and to build confidence in their decision making.
To enable students to be self-reliant and to get wide knowledge of their environment and in their life as a whole.
Develop their talents to the optimal level in a variety of areas, including, academic, artistic, personal and spiritual.
Become well disciplined and acquire sound study habits.
Understand Tanzanian and African culture and foster international understanding.

BUILDINGS:
School has enough classes for Ordinary Level and Advanced level. It has Laboratories and Library for all students, assembly hall that can accommodate three hundred people at a time.

HOSTEL:
The boarding houses have modern facilities e.g. Social rooms. All four boarding houses are located in the main school grounds. Each boarding house has a matron and patron and is constantly supervised. The school provides mattresses, beds and bed covers.

SPORTS:
The school has sports grounds for all games. We have trained and qualified teachers for all games. Games played at Maurice include; football, netball, basketball and volleyball.

TRANSPORT:
School provides transport facility to all off campus students so that they can be very comfortable to go to school and back to their home

COMPUTER STUDY:
The school has a computer laboratory to all students of Ordinary Level and Advanced Level.

Maurice High School has a unique administrative structure which supervises the function of the school. Every aspect of the student’s time is well managed.
